Lyme Disease Awareness Month

May is National Lyme Disease Awareness Month. Are your pets up to date on preventatives for ticks?

Tick Myth: No woods or trees means no ticks on your four-legged friends.

Tick Fact: Ticks live on the ground no matter the locale. They typically crawl up grass blades onto a host.

Tick Myth: Ticks are insects.

Tick Fact: Ticks are actually a species of parasite called arachnids that belong to the same family as mites.

Bad News: Ticks in every U.S. state carry diseases.

Good News: We have a preventative for that!

April- November is high season for ticks, but we recommend year-round preventatives; because, infections can occur any time of the year.

If you need to start your pet on a preventative or if it is time for your pet’s preventative please come and see us!
