Cullman Veterinary Hospital is open 54 hours each week, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. For over 40 years, CVH has provided after hours emergency service for the animals of Cullman and surrounding counties. Fortunately, many things have changed in veterinary medicine in those same 40 years. There are now several veterinary emergency hospitals in Madison, Huntsville, Birmingham, Hoover and Trussville that are open and fully staffed all night, weekends and holidays. The closest one will be dependent on your present location. Unfortunately, due to age, health, liability, safety, and a shortage of veterinarians available to cover after hours emergencies, we will no longer be providing emergency services at our primary location. We have partnered with several veterinarian emergency providers to make sure you have access to care for your beloved family member. Locations and contact information are available on the internet and on our website. We recommend you contact the emergency hospital prior to your visit. If your pet’s condition is stable and can wait until the next day we are open, we will be happy to see you and your pet first thing that morning. A veterinary technician will triage the situation, and if it is critical, it will be moved to the front of our schedule. If our technician determines the situation is stable, you will be given the opportunity to wait or drop off the pet for care, as our doctors are available.
